ConQuest Avalon Convention!
Heading off to Taiwan to do some demos (yes, you’re not reading this wrong) soon, so I’m keeping this one short.
Brendan and I had a great time at ConQuest Avalon (thanks to Mike O’Brien for inviting us and giving us a table for the whole weekend) this past weekend, and we just wanted to share some photos and some thoughts.
This was definitely a smaller convention, plus the crazy California fires, it was a pretty slow weekend. But the game sure looks good set up!
On Saturday we had John come try out the game. He wanted to at PacifiCon but never got a chance. This is one of the benefits of a smaller con! John gave us some great feedback and helped us streamline the game even more. Thanks John!
Saturday night Brendan and I finally got into a game of Azul to learn the game, and during that game, met this fantastic couple Justin and Trish. They were so awesome, as we were talking about why we are at the Con, they said they always wanted to try a miniatures game, and come by Sunday (bringing Julia and Kenny) to play the game! I think as their first minis game, we did not disappoint!
Ultimately, for the end of a busy 2018 (my my this year flew by), this chill con was what we really needed. Met some new friends, said hello to old friends, and got some good polish level feedback. The game feels very good right now with all the demos and playtests we’re doing, so we’re super excited going into the Holiday Season and 2019 with some more surprises for everyone. Stay tuned!
Happy Early Thanksgiving!
